Day trip: Darling
Darling is a small town in the Western Cape, South Africa. Mostly know for the Rocking the Daisies Music Festival held annually every October, it's also part of the Cape Floral Region and home to hundreds of species of flowering plants. Just 65 kms from Darling, is the West Coast National Park’s Langebaan Lagoon which attracts migrating water birds, like flamingos and white pelicans.
First stop: Philly!
We took the N7 and in less than an hour we were in Philadelphia where we stopped for breakfast at Pepper Tree Art Stable - a cosy little farm themed coffee shop. The service was a bit slow but the coffee is good. We ordered scrambled eggs which came with hearty mushrooms, avo and a slice of brown toast as well as their carrot cake.
We took a walk around town browsing jewellery, second hand books and different odds and ends before hopping on the R304 past Atlantis and on to Darling.

Up next: Darling brewery
Next we went to Darling Brewery for a beer tasting. They have a choice of two tastings:

Lastly: Darling Sweet
For our last stop, we popped into Darling Sweet. They sell an assortment of yummy, home made toffees in all the flavours you can think of. We tasted a few samples before deciding on liqorice, salted caramel and chocolate toffees.
